Empty Worlds Save File

This is a downloadable save file (download to C:\Users\....\........\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\saves).

Every world and apartment has been emptied, and there are no inhabitants, save for 1 Maxis townie who you can delete once you've created a Sim. I've also deleted hidden households. It's Base Game Compatible, as only worlds from packs you own will show up. You can change the Season by right clicking it if you have UI Cheats, or through the MCCC menu. I've also added a few little extra holidays.

Recommended Mods (not required): MC Command Center - Remove situation outfits, stop Occult generation etc., pull townies from tray Instead of generating new ones (guide and townies here). Kira's Sim Yu-Niverse: Nerd Herd Again, Now With Serenity and TKB

Next: The Ishtars and the Kaibas

Happy Sim Saturday, cornflakes! :D

I've revamped the Nerd Herd yet again (this should be the last one for a while 😅), and this time I've decided to include Serenity and TKB, since they'll each be part of one of my main households at some point.

The old save was kind of a mess, because I started it back in 2019 and it was a while before I came up with any real gameplay rules, so I'm thinking of starting again from an earlier point in the timeline - probably halfway between the Ceremonial Duel and DSOD, although I'm not sure if DSOD is an ingredient in my canon soup. 🤔 So yeah, when I start posting my gameplay, you'll be able to see the whole thing from the beginning! :D

Yugi's aspiration is The Curator, and his traits are Geek, Good, Loyal and Self-Assured (character development, cornflakes~).

Atem's aspiration is Discover Life (by Midnitetech), and his traits are Genius, Competitive (by Kuttoe), Geek and Socially Awkward.

I was lucky enough to win the Goth Galore kit in a giveaway earlier this year, and it's perfect for Yugi! I wish there were more CC addons for it, though.

Joey's aspiration is Friend of the World (still not sure about that, but I can't think of anything that works 🤷‍♀️), and his traits are Active, Glutton, Hot-Headed, Loyal and Outgoing.

Serenity's aspiration is Discover Life (at least until I settle on something else), and her traits are Gentle (by Lazurite, adopted by Chingyu), Loves Outdoors, Music Lover and Cheerful.

Fun fact: While I was playtesting the cornflakes, Wonderful Whims told me that Serenity found Téa extremely attractive. I haven't set anyone's preferences yet, so I guess my game's a Sideshipper! 😂

Téa's aspiration is World-Famous Celebrity, and her traits are Outgoing, Hot-Headed, Dance Machine and Ambitious.

Tristan's aspiration is Soulmate, and his traits are Dog Lover, Active, Loyal and Romantic.

We still need a dance career. 😔

Ryo's aspiration is either Bestselling Author or Paranormal Investigator (from Lifetime Aspirations Reworked - I like both for him), and his traits are Gentle, Geek, Glutton and Creative.

TKB's aspiration is Discover Life, and his traits are Glutton, Kleptomaniac, Geek and Can't Stand Cold (by NateTheL0ser). (Yep, I kind of struggled, ^^;. He's not exactly evil anymore at this point, so I wasn't sure what else to give him.)

Having them live together should be fun, especially with Tristan thrown in... (I've had Thoughts about this. Not all of them will work in-game, but still.)

Oh, and I took some inspiration from this piece of art for TKB's face!

Miho's aspiration is Soulmate, and her traits are Bookworm, Cheerful, Materialistic and Romantic.

Duke's aspiration is Computer Whiz, and his traits are Genius, Geek, Romantic and Outgoing.

These cornflakes just kept rolling wants to talk to each other during playtesting, and these probably weren't even the same Sims from the original save! I'm pretty sure I remade them from scratch! It's like the game itself ships them! VANITYSHIPPERS, UNITE! (All... maybe three of us! 😂)

Next up are the Kaibas (including Roland) and the Ishtars, and then some characters I haven't posted before! 👀

BUILD A CITY CHALLENGE LITE for THE SIMS 4

have you ever wanted to create a bustling community from virtually nothing and see your sims thrive? inspired by various BACC challenges made for the sims 2 & the recent release of businesses & hobbies, i decided to rewrite the beloved challenge to suit my needs and share it with you all!

INTRODUCTIONS

The Build a City Challenge has existed in the Sims community since The Sims 2. It prompts you as a player to build up a bustling city starting from virtually nothing. If you like rotational gameplay, managing businesses in The Sims and playing rags to riches, this challenge might be for you!

This is a lighter, less complicated approach to the challenge (hence the lite in the title). It doesn’t require you to calculate taxes for your sims or grind your sims’ skills, careers or aspirations to unlock new things. If you’re interested in that kind of gameplay though, these rules for The Sims 4 should satisfy you! You can also get inspired from rulesets made for The Sims 2, such as these: x, x, x.

Please also remember that this is my personal ruleset and you’re welcome to change anything and everything to your heart’s desire!

NOTES BEFORE PLAYING

This challenge heavily relies on retail gameplay, as every Sim you’re starting out with will be owning their own business, thus making this challenge not base game compatible. You will need either Get to Work or Businesses & Hobbies to play (the latter being preferable, as you can start a business from your home lot AND it doesn’t have to be strictly retail). If you’re able to play with mods, I recommend checking out Saleabration Retail System by Ravasheen, which makes it possible to run a store without either of those packs.

RECOMMENDED MODS/DOWNLOADS

Empty Save File by midnitetech (makes the set-up process a breeze)

Venue Changes by zerbu (enables you to build a highschool in any world (make sure to download the High School Years add-on)

No Romantic Satisfaction by lumpinou (rotational gameplay causes the romantic satisfaction to decay overtime in all households you’re currently not playing, so I prefer to turn the whole system off all together)

RESTRICTIONS

At the beginning of the gameplay I like to make it a lot harder for myself than it needs to be. That’s why I choose to play with the Simple Living and Off-The-Grid lot challenges, which later on you can get rid of through gameplay! You can also choose to play with them forever or never play with them. It’s completely up to you!

I also don’t allow myself to Hire Services, such as Maid, Gardener, Repairperson, Babysitter etc., as well as Ordering Delivery. You can also unlock these through gameplay, or choose to omit the restrictions all together.

No purchasing items on the phone/computer as well!

Sims can only Try For Baby when they want to Woohoo before the Doctor role is unlocked.

There’s no daycare/babysitter before the Daycare is actually built, so at least 1 parent has to stay with the baby at all times.

GETTING STARTED

Pick any world you want to build the city in. If you want to stick with only one world throughout the whole challenge, I recommend Windenburg since it’s the largest. You can also ‘merge’ multiple worlds into one (for example Willow Creek and Newcrest) and pretend it’s one big city. There’s no limit to how many worlds you can merge together.

If you can’t download the Empty Save File, bulldoze every lot and delete every sim that lives in that world, and preferably your whole savefile.

Roll a number between 2-8 (I like using the random number generator by typing ‘rng’ into Google). This is the number of your starter Sims/founders.

I personally like for my Sims to have roles in the town, and have written them in order of importance to my own taste:

Mayor - without this Sim the town wouldn’t exist. They work in the POLITICS career [City Living] & make sure the residents of the town have everything they need to live good lives. Or they cause absolute chaos and dismay, it’s all up to you! The Mayor owns the TOWN HALL building, which you can run in any way you like (I personally host Charisma Skill Classes & invite “important” Sims over for Important Political Meetings. Or whatever real politicians actually do). If you own Eco Lifestyle, the NAP gameplay comes in handy here! You can pretend the NAPs are your Mayor’s personal plans for the town & you can campaign by asking other residents to vote for them.

Farmer - they grow produce & tend farm animals [Cottage Living], thus providing the community with fresh ingredients. The Farmer owns the GROCERY STORE, in which they sell fruits, vegetables and animal products. It’s quite difficult to run a functioning grocery store in The Sims 4, because of the inability to sell majority of Cottage Living products (such as flour and meat), so I recommend either turning off the Simple Living Lot Challenge as soon as the Grocery Store you build is up to your standard, or downloading the Grocery Store Set by Severinka_ (TSR warning), which makes running the store a little more bearable. Once the Grocery Store is set up and you have at least one non-household employee, the Grocery Store Delivery Service is unlocked!

Handyperson - they work in the HANDYPERSON career [For Rent], as well as UPGRADE all appliances in all residents’ houses with Fuel Cell/Add H2O Siphoner upgrades. Once 10 houses are upgraded, you can turn off the Off-the-Grid lot challenge forever! You unlocked permanent electricity! The Handyperson also unlocks the Repair Service. They don’t have to own a business, but they can host Handiness Skill Classes, for example.

Furniture Store Owner - they own a FURNITURE STORE, which provides Sims with new furniture. Sims don’t necessarily need to buy the furniture from this store to furnish their own house with, but the store needs to at least carry a type of furniture for Sims to buy it for their own house (for example, if the store doesn’t sell beds, Sims can’t buy a new bed for themselves; if the store does sell beds, Sims can buy any bed from the Build/Buy catalogue to furnish their house with).

General Store Owner - they own a GENERAL STORE, which sells alarms, umbrella stands, decoration boxes, entertainment objects, even computers, TV’s and other electronics. Having this store open unlocks the Order ability available on the Computer, as well as the Purchase Gifts interaction on the phone.

Scientist - works in the SCIENTIST career [Get to Work]. Unlocks the ability to have Science Babies, can own a business where they host Logic/Rocket Science/Robotics Skill Classes, can sell Telescopes, Microscopes, Robotics Workstations, Chess Tables etc.

Doctor - works in the DOCTOR career [Get to Work]. Unlocks being able to purchase medicine & the ability to Woohoo. They can own a Business where they sell medicine.

Police - works in the DETECTIVE career [Get to Work]. Unlocks the Police Link Security Upgrade on the burglar alarm, as well as the ability to call the police with the burglar present on the lot.

You can omit any roles you deem unnecessary, merge roles together, as well as create new ones to fit your playstyle.

I like to create every role in a separate household, and randomize their traits, preferences and turn ons/offs. I also use the random number generator to determine things such as:

AGE GROUP (numbers 1-3)

1 = young adult

2 = adult

3 = elder

GENDER PREFERENCE (numbers 1-4)

1 = attracted to female sims

2 = attracted to male sims

3 = attracted to both

4 = attracted to neither

OCCULT STATUS (numbers 1-5)

1-4 = human sim

5 = occult

OCCULT TYPE (numbers 1-5)

1 = alien

2 = vampire

3 = merfolk

4 = spellcaster

5 = werewolf

Of course none of these randomizations are necessary, but it’s nice to start out with a variety of Sims!

Once you have your founders created, move them to their empty home lots, build their houses and/or businesses, and start playing!

I also recommend adding at least one community lot, such as the park, so your sims have something to do other than run their businesses all day.

ROTATIONAL GAMEPLAY

To play rotationally, you need to make sure you have the following settings enabled, found in GAME OPTIONS → GAMEPLAY:

Auto Age (Played Households): Only Active Household

Auto Age (Unplayed Households): Off (or On, if you prefer townies to age faster than your sims)

Animal Aging: Off (there’s a bug where farm animals keep aging (and dying) while you’re not playing with the family that owns them, so I just prefer to turn their aging off all together)

Neighbourhood Stories: Off

Then, play every single one of your households for the same amount of time, to keep their ages in sync. For example, start with household one, play with them for 7 days (Sunday 8 am - Sunday 8 am next week) and then switch over to household two, and repeat that process until you’ve played with every household for the rotation! The rotation ends when every single household has been played through.

GROWING THE COMMUNITY

Obviously, starting with 2-8 sims isn’t a lot when we’re trying to build a city. Usually in this challenge you earn the ability to move new sims in as soon as you accomplish some goals, but because I didn’t set any, you’re welcome to move new sims in anytime!

If you don’t want to create new sims, growing the community through marriage and making children is obviously fine too. You can also create Servos, if you want!

The only rule I have for adding newly created sims is to include 1 new sim per rotation. So on rotation number one, after just creating our founders, you can’t add any new sims. But as soon as you’re starting on the second rotation, you can add 1 new sim and play them on the end of the rotation!

The newly created sims have to take on roles too. Once you fill all first 8 roles I’ve provided before, you can create sims such as teachers, vets, daycare / bar / restaurant owners, and whoever else you can come up with!

The roles unlock new services, too. For example, once you have a restaurant, your sims can order pizza, and when you open a daycare, sims can call for a babysitter!

Thousand Year Old Wanda

There's a solo TTRPG I love called Thousand Year Old Vampire. I'm putting my main TS4 game saves on hold because the game is pretty broken for me right now, so I was looking for something else to do... I decided to combine the two things.

I'll be using TYOV to create a story Wanda's life. I'll play out the prompts in TS4 and incorporate the things that happen in there. This is just an experiment, I have no idea how it'll work out as I play!

This probably won't be "canon" to Wanda's story, it won't be very historically accurate, and I don't know if I'll finish. If anyone has any tips/suggestions please let me know, and if you want to do something similar, please show me the results!

I'm currently using midnitetech's Noteworthy Notebook to have a little in-game diary/record.

Star's Save File

So, I've decided to clean out an entire save to build it up again into more of an alien world (as much as i can without CAW existing in TS4 outside of TwistedMexi's alpha). Yes, I know SrslySims' and MidniteTech's Blank Saves exist, but I felt that I would feel more accomplished if I did it myself!

No, I will not share because I will likely be using CC for the alien world and there are already blank saves available but there are mods recommended below if you wish to do it yourself! :)

The Garcia Legacy Challenge

New legacy challenge made by myself for everyone who got tired of the The Sims 4 and played all the popular challenges. I just wanted to try some features in the game or new mods but I have to set myself some goals to keep motivated. Thank you if you're joining me in this.

I didn’t really have any idea what to name this challenge so creatively I went with the family name of my first gen sim.

General rules

- No money or carreer cheats! We love some struggle here 😉

- You may play any lifespan you want. I personally prefer long because I just can’t  let my sims die... 😂

- You can use any cc or mods until it counts as cheating. I also a cc/mod addict myself, so I’m gonna recommend you some mods to make all generations even more enjoyable.

- Just keep in mind that this is rather a guide for new gameplay ideas than a challenge. You don’t need to complete everything and feel free to change the rules to enjoy the game even more.

Generation 1 - 💕All About Love💕

You are an ambitious sim, who’s ready to conquer the world. The world of love, flowers, white dresses. 

As soon as you graduate you move out from home to start working towards your dream of owning a wedding boutique for the dresses you made. Which would be nice if you didn’t spend all of your savings on your new house. So first of all you need to find a job to start earning money. 

Although you can’t just live to your job. You love to be loved. You have some close friends but true love won’t come easy. Until you finally open your boutique, where the drama comes. One day a couple comes in to ask for your help but after that you mostly only the one half of them shows up on your meetings and you two starts to get closer together. 

Probably are they the one? Is it worth to risk the fame of your store for love?

Generation 2 - ✨From Camgirl/camboy to Actress/actor✨

You realize early that happy and peaceful family life is not for you. You desire for shining life and fame. You are a good-looking charismatic sim who always get what you want but success won’t come easy even for you. 

You go to university to get a drama degree which we know isn’t cheap so you decide to take advantage of your pretty face and nice body and open a OnlySims account. You became more and more successful, continue working in the adult entertainment even after you got your degree. You are a famous actress/actor after all. And you get to meet (and woohoo) all kinds of sexy sims!

You don’t want everyone to know about your real job though so you keep it as a secret from your friends, family and partners. After you divorced your partner who you thought might worth settle with you decide it’s time to change and get back to your real dream, being a real actress/actor. Before you quit, you meet someone you fell deeply in love with. You get married to the only person who knew what your real job is. 

Oh, and you hate cooking.

Generation 3 - 👪“Lovely” Big Family👪

You can get everything you want even though you don’t really want anything.

You have a neutral relationship with your parents, they are busy with their jobs and try to compensate the time with money. 

So you spend all your free time in the local gym or shopping with your friends. Unlike your parents and grandparents you have no ambitions at all. You love sports, when you go to high school you join the cheerleading team immediately. You became popular even though you just go with the flow. 

You decided to go to university to get a biology, but you an injury before graduation makes it impossible for you to become an athlete.

Just as you jogging in the local park aimlessly you bump into someone you immadiately fell in love with. After the first few date you realize you are already engaged. Everything’s nice until you meet your partners family. Since they lost their parents a few months ago as the oldest sibling your fiancé raising their younger siblings. How nice isn’t it? The only problem is you HATE CHILDREN.

After all love wins, you get married and move in your partners small apartment and help them raising the kids as a stay-at-home. The children see you as a rival for attention and you argue with your partner more every evening. After a night of apologizing in bed you wake up not feeling well. We all know what that means...

Will you keep the baby? Will your love be strong enough to endure all the problems? Will you come over your hate for children?

Anyways you find your passion in writing stories and cooking since you never had the luck to enjoyed home-made food in your childhood. 

Goals:

Have the hates children trait

Join the cheerleading team in high school

Complete the Admired Icon teen aspiration

Write in your diary at least twice a week

Reach at least lvl 5 of fitness while a teenager

Get married to someone with at least 3 younger siblings (child/toddler) and one pet.

Generation 4 - 🕷️Black Widow’s Redemption🕷️

You always were a troubled child pranking all the toilets in the house or trolling the forums all day. You love mischief but you never had any bad intentions. 

When your parents find out about your relationship with the towns bad guy, you rather run away as a teenager than breaking up with them. You live in a run down apartment with your partner, quit school and get money by pickpocketing. Until one day, when you are in a bar, where a rich-looking sim offer you a drink, and some money to spend the night with him. You decline the offer saying you’re not that type of girl. But the idea of getting money from the rich comes to your mind. 

This is how a black widow was born. You seduce the richest townies then get married and move in with them. Some time later your real partner moves in as a gardener and do the dirty work of getting rid of your spouse. Then you move to the next one. 

Then something unexpected happened. You start to have feeling for your current spouse and realize you’re not in love with your partner in crime anymore. Your view of life starts to change. You are not evil, you don’t want to see anymore deaths just have a peacful life. 

After the break up and a huge argument with your partner they threat you and kills your newly found love. You run away from them as far as possible. You find redemption in Mt. Komorebi far from everything and everyone you knew. You spend your days working as a yoga instructor, doing extreme sports in your free time.

Goals:

Move out from your family as teenager with your partner

Quit school 

Earn money from pickpocketing

Max out Mischief skill

As a young adult marry the richest townies, move in with them and kick their families out 

Move in your love as a roommate ( the ”gardener” you know) and let them get rid of the spouses.

My take on the Shane from Stardew Valley

Name : Shane Woad 

Canon Changes : Shane is Jas’ much older brother instead of godfather. Also, for diversity, I made Shane aromantic. He is still a marriage candidate in the traditional sense, but I figured until he really works through his depression, he won’t be ready for romance. I might remove this trait later. 

Traits : Foodie. Major Depressive Disorder (Your False Hope). Detached (chingyu1023). Juiceaholic (TheLovelyGameryt). Avoidant (chingyu1023). Impulsive (chingyu1023). Aromantic (PimpMySims).

Shane loves chickens. He hopes to have his own chicken farm someday, if he can ever get his act together. He started saving for his own land plot last year, but fell off the band wagon when he hit a setback around the holidays. 

Shane is a decent cook. He has a mixology certificate and even bartended a bit after graduating high school. He thought about culinary school, but he’s never been motivated to apply.

Are you able to use the world renamer on Brindleton Bay? I was able to change the othet worlds except Brindleton Bay, Granite Falls and Mongolia Promenade? Is there something I'm not doing?

Hi Anon! Were you using the World Name Changer Mod by Oh My Sims 4? I know I was able to update Brindleton Bay when I last used the mod, but that was a couple of years ago now, and the mod hasn’t been updated since Cats & Dogs. Or maybe you were using the updated one by @midnitetech? If you followed the instructions, and it worked for the other worlds, I’m not sure what could be going wrong. You could maybe try this tutorial from @midnitetech which will let you change the world names in any save (not just new ones) and see if that will work!

I’m currently struggling a bit with what to do in game, so I decided to start a brand new save file. Initially I was going to Strangetown... but I’ve done it so many times.

So I’m taking inspiration from the TS2 base game and filling up @midnitetech‘s renamed, empty savefile

I wanna try and capture some of that crazy stuff that made me love the TS2 sims.

Jenn! I think the latest patch broke maristella! I can't seem to load any familes, when i do the game crashes ;_; i removed mods, no dice. And all my other saves are fine...

Hi Anon, something is definitely up because you’re the second person to send me a note about that! Unfortunately I don’t know what’s wrong, and I can’t re-create the problem in my game. I created a fresh Sims 4 folder, downloaded Maristella Plus, loaded the save, and was able to load a few different families with no problem. 

In the replies to my other Anon note about this, @midnitetech suggested clearing your game’s online thumbnail cache and doing a “Repair” of the game through Origin. I would give that a shot and see if it fixes anything. 

If not, then we need to do some more troubleshooting. Do you have all of the packs required for Maristella Plus?
